The ALAMO DOG OBEDIENCE CLUB was formed in the early 1950's and is the oldest dog obedience club in San Antonio, Tx.  The first training classes were held in a parking lot in San Antonio until the Club purchased property for training classes in Northeast San Antonio.   The Club's first AKC obedience trials were held in the middle 1950's.   The Club continues to host AKC Obedience Trials in the San Antonio area and provides dog obedience classes at its training facility in Northeast San Antonio.

Alamo Dog Obedience Club hosts three AKC all-breed agility trials each year.  The March trial site is the San Marcos Civic Center, San Marcos, Tx.  The July trials are located in the San Antonio Convention Center in conjunction with the River City Cluster of Dog Shows.  Consult the AKC website at http://www.akc.org/ for information about the trials.  Premium lists for the agility trials may be downloaded at the Bexar Regional Agility Team website http://www.bratagility.org/ when available.

"Our Mission"

Alamo Dog Obedience Club, the pioneer obedience training club of San Antonio, was established in 1953.  The purpose of Alamo Dog Obedience Club is to promote training of dogs for companionship, good behavior and for entry in obedience trials.  The Club is dedicated to sponsoring training classes and cooperating with other organizations in the training of and improvement in the behavior of dogs, and promoting good sportsmanship among Club members and among dog fanciers,owners and handlers.  The Club holds obedience and agility trials in accordance with the rules, regulations and standards of the American Kennel Club.
