AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class.

CGC testing is done with the Basic Manners II classes on Saturday or Sunday.

The purpose of the CGC Test is to ensure that our favorite companion, the dog, can be a respected member of the community.  This happens when they are trained to act mannerly in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other people and dogs.

Successful completion of Basic Manners II or III (with Instructor approval) is recommended before signing up .   AKC recommends that dogs re-take this test every 2 years to refresh their skills.  A must for Therapy and Service dogs!

If your dog can pass the CGC, they only have to learn 5 tricks to earn the Novice Trick title!  Why not do both?!

All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. The Canine Good Citizen Program lays the foundation for other AKC activities such as obedience, agility, tracking, Therapy dog and performance events.
